LORIMA - Spreading Happiness

INTRO

Who are we?

Founded in 2015, we are a group of young people, engineers, ex-KITan's (KIT Institute of Technology, Kolhapur) with an aim to bring smiles to the faces of the needy. With the common desire to give it back to society, we started this group in 2015.

Over the years, our team and the people who have donated to us have grown exponentially. We have helped a number of needy and a few organizations, to name a few, Karunalaya Balgruh (A home to orphan HIV positive children of age 0-15), Andha Yuvak Manch (Orphanage for the visually challenged children), Korgaonkar High School and others.

Some of the kids that we have helped have achieved excellence in their SSC/HSC and other examinations, making their parents, our donors, and us extremely proud.

We have also helped HIV positive orphan kids in their healthcare & education. We also feel grateful for doing our bit during the 2019 Kolhapur floods & during the ongoing corona pandemic by helping a few families to stand on their feet once again.

Every year, team "Lorima" organizes donations on "Diwali" to light up smiles on the faces of the people. We begin our movement by spreading the word amongst our colleges and peers via social media. A number of people have donated to us wholeheartedly and we are extremely delighted to see more and more people joining us in this mission to help the society. It is the constant support and the trust of our donors that drive us to do more and more.

Education

We support the education of the most marginalized children of India, ensuring that they go to school, stay there, and learn to their full potential.

Health

We have been providing crucial healthcare support to HIV-positive children at a balgrah in Kolhapur making sure that their needs for proper medical aid are being taken care of.

Emergencies

During emergencies, when the situations are vulnerable, we try to provide life-saving relief and rehabilitation support to people and their communities.

Karunalaya Balgrah - Kolhapur

Home to about 40-50 HIV positive kids, who are either orphan or left by their parents. Throughout the 5 years, we have helped these kids with some of their basic necessities.

1Education

Paying the academic year fees for some of the kids & ensuring that the child gets a quality education.

2Medical Aid

Undertaking the medical aid expense for a year, and providing crucial healthcare support to children.

3Key resources

Through the donations that were provided, the balgrah was able to arrange for some key amenities in the form of block pavings, tiles, and other necessary resources.

Donated School Kits

Before the beginning of the new acedamic year, we donate well equipped school kits to many students across the city.

Lorima was able to assist the children in their educational facilities mainly, Pre-school [3-6 yrs] & Remedial Education [6-15 yrs school going]. We were also able to fund the scholarship fees for kids who wish to pursue some additional courses(music, sewing and other).
